MISSION
Ohio DEBH, as an affiliate of the national DEBH organization, is committed to students who are identified as having emotional and behavioral disorders and those whose behavior puts them at risk for failure in school, home, and/or community. Ohio DEBH, as an affiliate of the national DEBH organization, is dedicated to supporting the professional development and enhancing the expertise of those who work on behalf of children with challenging behavior and their families.
Recent News
Ohio DEBH is saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Ed Cancio, who founded Ohio CCBD years ago. Ed had retired from the University of Toledo and previously had served as a special education director in Illinois. Ed was an author, a researcher, and rebuilt the Ohio Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders some years ago. In June, 2025 he is pictured here receiving the Ohio CCBD Lifetime Achievement Award. Ed did very meaningful research in the area of special education teacher retention and administrative support for educators.
